Finding & Running Reports

Finding & Running Reports

Goal: know where the reports are and how to run, filter and read them.

Where reports live

  • In each workspace. Open SA VAT, SA Payroll, SA Labour or SA COIDA and look for the Reports cards/links.
  • Global search. Press Ctrl/Cmd + K and type the report name (e.g. "Payroll Register", "VAT Analysis").
  • Report view. Many lists also offer a Report view (toggle at the top of a list) for ad-hoc columns and filters.

Running a report

  1. Open the report.
  2. Set the filters at the top — almost always Company and a date range (or period / fiscal year). Some add filters like department, employee or VAT classification.
  3. The results refresh as you change filters. Use the column menu to show/hide or sort columns.
  4. Export or print when you're happy — see Exporting & Printing Reports.

Tips

  • Always set the company and period first — most SA reports are scoped that way, and statutory totals only make sense within a period.
  • For payroll, align the date range to the payroll period / tax year (1 March – end February) when reconciling statutory figures.
  • If a report looks empty, check the filters (wrong company, period with no posted documents, or documents not yet submitted).
